A Gasket is a seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally used to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression. Gaskets are normally made from a flat material, a sheet such as paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (otherwise known as PTFE or Teflon) or a plastic polymer (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene). It is used to provide a tight seal between Adapter and mating part.
Attributes • Handle high pressure without deforming or breaking and provide leak free connection • Provides resistance to the contaminants such as dust and dirt
Applications A Square Gasket is also used on applications where anti-vibration, packaging, noise and sound reduction are required.
