Radar measurement Time...

The Micropilot FMR51 by Endress+Hauser is a free-space radar level transmitter using the Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle. Operating at 26 GHz (K-band), it is designed for continuous, non-contact level measurement of liquids, pastes, and sludges.
Core Specifications
  • Accuracy: ±2 mm (0.08 in)
  • Measuring Range: Up to 40 m (131 ft) standard; up to 70 m (230 ft) with advanced dynamics
  • Process Temperature: -196 to +280 °C (-321 to +536 °F) for XT version; -196 to +450 °C (-321 to +842 °F) for HT version
  • Process Pressure: Vacuum to 160 bar (2,320 psi)
  • Frequency Range: K-band (~26 GHz)
Materials and Connections
  • Wetted Parts: 316L, Alloy C, PTFE, Ceramic, Al2O3, Graphite
  • Process Connections: Threaded (G1-1/2, MNPT1-1/2), Flanges (ASME, EN, JIS), Tri-Clamp
  • Housing Materials: Aluminum, Stainless steel (316L)
System Integration & Output
  • Output / Communication: 4...20 mA HART, PROFIBUS PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus
  • Wireless: Optional Bluetooth® for configuration via SmartBlue app
  • Safety: SIL2 according to IEC 61508; SIL3 for homogeneous redundancy
  • Data Management: HistoROM integrated data memory for configuration backup and diagnostics
Key Functional Features
  • Multi-Echo Tracking: Advanced evaluation algorithms filter out interference echoes from internal vessel obstructions.
  • Hermetic Seal: Double ceramic coupling and gas-tight feedthrough protect against hazardous or toxic media leaks.
  • Process Independence: Measurements are unaffected by changing media density, high temperatures, extreme pressures, or heavy vapor layers.
